I'm renewing my DBS but am not on the Update Service. Can I track my application?

We check your documents match your DBS application form 

  • If your documents don't match or don't meet the criteria for DBS, we will email you asking for relevant documents. You may need to bring new documents back to your local team
  • If information on your DBS form needs clarification, we will email you asking for this information

 A Disclosure and Barring Service tracking 'E-number' is emailed to you

An 'E-number' is generated when the Disclosure and Barring Service acknowledge they have received your application. Please check your email, junk and spam inboxes for an email for use with this tracking number.

  • You can only track the status of your DBS application with your 'E-number' by using the DBS Tracking Service
  • If you're tracking your application and your application has been at 'Stage 4' for more than 60 days, please contact the Disclosure and Barring Service by calling 03000 300 190.
    • 'Stage 4' delays are often caused by police force backlogs, further checks on your record, or a complex address history. Unfortunately, this means our NHS Professionals teams cannot speed these up for you.
