I'm waiting for the outcome of my Occupational Health assessment or my immunisations. Can I pick up bank shifts?

We have a legal responsibility to ensure all our Bank Members are fit and supported to perform their duties. As such, we have to ensure you are cleared by our Occupational health provider to work in your relevant area.

If you are a Bank recruited worker (where you can work at multiple trusts) or a HCSWD programme applicant you need to wait until all your compliance tasks - including your Occupational Health - are completed before picking up bank shifts. Please make sure you check your email inbox and junk mail regularly to check for communications from Optima Health - our Occupational Health provider.

If you are a Referral (where you work at a Partner Trust or Client you are already known to) applicant, you can work for the first 4 weeks whilst we help you complete any remaining recruitment checks. If you do not complete all your tasks in this time, you will no longer be able to work. As long as you have completed all your other recruitment tasks and your Declaration of Health we will review any milestone dates related to Occupational Health so you can continue to book shifts.

To check the process of your Occupational Health assessment, you'll need to contact Optima Health. Information on how to do this can be found in our article How do I contact Optima Health about my Occupational Health?
