Oliver McGowan training was introduced by the Health and Care Act in 2022 in order to improve the care and treatment for people with a learning disability and/or Autism.
This is the Governments preferred training for Health and Social staff, it is mandatory and therefore all Bank Members must complete this module.
This learning aims to save lives by ensuring our Bank Members have the right skills and knowledge to provide safe, compassionate and informed care to autistic people and people with a learning disability, which is an NHS requirement.

Please Note: NHS England offers a second face-to-face training module for Oliver McGowan training. As our online training is provided by NHS England, you may be prompted to complete this additional module.
- We do not require our Bank Members to complete any face-to-face Oliver McGowan training at this time.
- Once you have completed the online module, your training should update to show Oliver McGowan is completed.
