While there is no expiration date on DBS certificates, we are required to obtain a new DBS disclosure for our Bank Members every year. The date the annual update is required is 1 year on from the Issue Date of your last certificate. This is normally located under the certificate number on the first page or side.
You will not be able to work if your previous DBS has expired, until your new application is cleared.
You can find out when your DBS is due by looking at your My:Bank profile under 'Compliance information'. Please complete all required steps, at least 30 days prior to your DBS expiry date.
If you have recently received a DBS certificate, you can sign up for the DBS update service. The Update Service is an online subscription service payable to the DBS Authority. It keeps your DBS certificate up to date every year for £16 per year and subscriptions must be renewed yearly. There’s more information on the DBS update service on the gov.uk website.
