If you are eligible, you will be automatically enrolled in the NHS Pension Scheme on the first day of your temporary employment. This means your total pay will be subject to pension contribution deductions in accordance with the Scheme.
If you are not eligible or you are already working as a full-time employee for the NHS and are already enrolled into the pension scheme, you may be enrolled into your Trust's Alternative Qualifying Pension Scheme if you are eligible.
How do I opt-out?
If you are contributing to the NHS Pension Scheme and would like to opt out, please complete the Opt-Out Form and email it to directengagement@nhsprofessionals.nhs.uk
- You can only opt-out after you have been enrolled into the scheme
If you have been enrolled incorrectly and you submit the opt-out form within 30 days of your first shift, any deductions made will be refunded back to you.
If you submit the form after 30 days from your first shift, you must complete an RF12 form along with the Opt-Out Form.
