Direct Engagement is an employment model that some Trusts use for locum shift cover where they engage with you directly rather than through NHS Professionals. Registration and compliance is still managed by NHS Professionals but, for the duration of your booking, you become a Trust Employee. You will also receive payment direct from the Trust and not NHS Professionals.
Unfortunately any PAYE workers, workers under an umbrella company, registered as a Limited company or as a Person of Significant Control (PSC) can't work through Direct Engagement.
