I'm a Healthcare Support Worker. What criteria do I need to meet to apply as a Referral worker?

As a Referral (formerly Bank Exclusive) applicant, you will already be known to one of our Partner Trusts or Clients in a professional capacity. To be known to one of our Partner Trusts of Clients you:

  • Have worked with them within the last 3 months
  • Be known in a professional capacity to a Senior Manager within the last 3 months

However, as a Healthcare Support Worker, there are 3 routes of access to the Referral process.

I am a Student Nurse

If you are a Student Nurse wanting to work as a Healthcare Support Worker, you can only apply as a Referral applicant as long as you are not graduating within 6 months. To evidence this, we will need to see:

  • University Enrolment Confirmation
  • Student Finance Letter
  • University ID card (with expiry date)
  • Email from our Partner Trust or Client confirming you are a student

If you don't meet this criteria or can't evidence it, you can still apply on our Bank recruitment route. For more information, please see our article I am a Bank Applicant. What happens when I apply?

I am leaving or have left one of your Partner Trusts or Clients

If you are leaving or have left one of your Partner Trusts or Clients and want to work as a Healthcare Support Worker, you can apply as Referral applicant up to 3 months after you leave. To evidence this, we will need to see:

  • Your most recent payslip from our Partner Trust or Client (relevant to the role you are applying for)
  • Your P45 from our Partner Trust or Client

If you don't meet this criteria or can't evidence it, you can still apply on our Bank recruitment route. For more information, please see our article I am a Bank Applicant. What happens when I apply?

I worked with an agency at our of your Partner Trusts or Clients

If you are leaving your agency to work exclusively at one of our Partner Trusts or Clients through NHSP, you can apply as a Referral applicant. To evidence this, you must have:

  • An Active Agency profile with NHSP
  • Worked shifts within the last 3 months with the relevant Partner Trust or Client

If you don't meet this criteria or can't evidence it, you can still apply on our Bank recruitment route. For more information, please see our article I am a Bank Applicant. What happens when I apply?

If none of these routes meets your circumstances, you can still apply on our Bank recruitment route. For more information, please see our article I am a Bank Applicant. What happens when I apply?
