I'm a Registered Nurse or Midwife. What criteria do I need to meet to apply as a Bank applicant?

As a Bank (formerly Bank Only) applicant, you'll have the flexibility to work at any of our Partner Trusts or Clients. As such, we have to ensure you meet specific criteria.

  • Specific Partner Trusts or Clients may require additional qualifications. We will check this at the point of your application.


Experience

You must have a minimum of 6 months experience in the UK as a Registered Nurse (or Midwife if relevant). If you are a Registered Midwife you must also have completed a 12-month Preceptorship. Your experience must

  • Be in a hospital or hospice setting (private, NHS or Armed Forces)
  • Be in the relevant speciality (for instance, within an ITU, A&E, General, MH etc. setting)
  • Have been within the last 3 years

You may also qualify if you have completed a Return to Practice within the last 3 years.

Please note:

  • Specific Partner Trusts or Clients may require specific experience. We will check this at the point of your application.
    • Norfolk and Suffolk NHSFT will accept 6 months Mental Health Care Home experience for Registered Nurses
