What is a Short Notice Cancellation (SNC)?

A Short Notice Cancellation (SNC) is recorded when you cancel a shift less than 12 hours before it is due to start.

This applies whether you:

  • Cancel the shift yourself in My:Bank
  • Contact us and ask us to cancel the shift on your behalf.

You may also receive an SNC warning if we receive a complaint from a Trust about your attendance or timekeeping.

What happens if I receive an SNC?

We understand that unexpected circumstances can sometimes prevent you from attending a shift.

If this is your first SNC, we will send you an email reminder explaining the process. This will not affect your account. However, you will receive a warning on your profile.

If you receive multiple SNCs within a set period, restrictions may be placed on your account, and you could be temporarily prevented from working.

An SNC remains on your profile for a minimum of six months. The length of time it remains active may increase depending on the number of SNCs recorded during a set period.
