If you want to retire, please complete our Resignation Form with your reason for leaving as ‘Retirement’.
- Please release your shifts as soon as possible and refuse any future shifts to reduce delays in us processing you as a leaver.
- As part of the resignation process, any outstanding holiday will be given to you. For more information on this, see our article I'm leaving NHS Professionals. How will my holiday be paid?
- Once you've completed and submitted the resignation form, your P45 can take up to 6 weeks to be issued
Upon retiring from NHS Professionals, how can I access my Royal London pension?

If I’m planning to retire, can I return to work for NHSP in the future?
Many of our bank members choose to work with us after their retirement.
- If you have a pension with us, you would receive your full pension, then you can return to work after taking a short break.
- You may want to consider speaking to an independent financial adviser, about how going back to work after retiring might affect your pension.

If you had a pension with us before retiring, you will receive your full pension. Upon returning to work, you can re join the NHSP pension scheme to continue building your future pension.

How many hours can I work as a retiree?
